Hello all. First post here. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with reloading 350 legend. I reload for a few other calibers, me being 9mm. Are the projectiles the same? Also have some cfe blk and lil gun. I have seen recipes using those. My question is, is it similar to reloading 9mm or 38 in it’s a straight wall? Anything particularly difficult with it? And who makes the best dies for this? Thank you!!

I bought a H&R 223 Handi-Rifle and I am thinking about getting it rebored to 350 legend for deer hunting back East (New York).
I see Walmart has been having the ammo on the shelves. I will start picking some up when I have the extra cash.
I can get the 223 barrel converted for $250.

I'm interested on the pros & cons of reloading for this caliber and the reliability of the reloaded ammo.

My buddy built an ar in 350 legend for that reason. The ammo was available still when times were crazier

For me loading the 350 Legend has been basically just like the 10mm and 460 S&W I load for.

I have used exclusively Lil Gun powder, a Magnum rifle primer, Starline and Hornady brass, with the Hornady 170gr SP. I do use a Lee Factory Crimp Die for it and haven't had any issues in my AR.

Anyone reload a copy of the factory FMJ stuff that Winchester sells? I have been using the factory stuff for beaver hunting and it is extremely effective (any headshot or neck shot is way more terminally effective than my buddy's FMJ 556s, one shot kills even on my big 50+ pounders), but I ordered a batch of RMR 147 grain truncated cone FMJs and have suitable brass, etc. I am thinking that a similar shaped bullet of about the same weight should work well, but haven't had time to do load workup yet.

I reload for an AR chambered in 350 Legend. I tried the RMR 147 grain truncated cone FMJ but had trouble with feeding, so I ground and polished on the feed ramps. It helped, but not enough to suit me. The Hornady 170 grain SP feed perfectly. It seems like the longer bullets feed better in my gun. YMMV

Reports indicate it is quite finicky to load. Despite the .357 -.003 SAAMI spec, ot doesn't like .357 diameter projectiles at all. I tried to make up a dummy with a Berry's 158gr Plated 38 Cal bullet...it wouldn't chamber. I bought some 140gr Hornady 38 Cal FTX bullets (.357"), then picked up a Lee .356" Bullet sizer. They squeeze down to .3565" so it may be close. Since I don't have a case or ammo gauge at this point I'm still in prep mode.

In my case, I bought a 350 Legend barrel from Sanders Armory and built another AR...seems that while Ammo remains scarce and pricey, AR parts have dropped equal to, and below pre-pandemic pricing.

Bummer. Well, will try it and see. If it doesn't work I will shoot the 147s in a 9 and use Hornady 170s for the legend.
