I just have to give a shout out to RCBS. This was my first time dealing with them. I have to say though that I've had just as good dealings with Hornady as well.

I contacted RCBS on Tuesday about so dies I bought from an individual. They were .45 ACP dies. Well, I contacted regarding buying some new decapping pins from them since the pin was broke in the die set I bought. I had planned to pay for them.

RCBS CS contacted me yesterday saying they were just going to send me some free of charge.

Got to love the customer service in the reloading industry!

This has been my experience in nearly 5 decades of owning reloading equipment. MEC, Lyman, RCBS, Lee, Dillon: all have been exemplary any time I needed something. Some other industry, like, oh, I duno, the AUTO INDUSTRY, could learn something from them.

RCBS is great! I go out of my way to buy their stuff because I know if I have any problems they will take care of it.
I can't say that with Lee.

This was my first dealing with RCBS. I normally buy Hornady everything, but I found these dies along with some 38/357 dies and had to get them to load some stuff for my dad.

Know what you mean, I've noticed that if you get a female they take care of your problem, never had a guy say anything but "sorry don't know what we can do"

I had an excellent experience with Lee customer service some years back and I, too, was very impressed. You may be onto something when you suggest this might reflect something special about the reloading industry.

Then again, reloading is a somewhat dangerous activity and maybe they just don't want to take any chances with their customers.

I acquired a used set of dies in .22-250 quite a while back, just to have on hand(I'm talking years). Finally got around to loading some ammo and the decapping rod was bent beyond repair. I called RCBS and explained these were used when I got them and I expected to pay for a new rod. The guy that took the call wouldn't accept any money and sent it out no charge.

I have nothing but good to say about RCBS. They've found & shipped some oddball parts for my old dies. And replaced a broken primer arm. All N/C.
Redding shipped a new drop tube for my #3 measure N/C after I drilled the old one out for loading 30 cal (and then ended up getting a 22.)

We are very lucky, the reloading companies as a whole have as good a customer service as any industry there is.

I think it may have to do with the fact that, in general, reloaders are a rare breed compared to the general population. What I mean is there aren't that many of us compared to the general population. So, every customer is very valuable. Every manufacturer strives to build brand loyalty and in this industry CS is a good way to do it. Lucky us!
