I have a 1990 vintage Remington 1100 LT-20 Special. I needed to shorten the LOP for my son so rather than commit an act of sacrilege and cut off the nice english stock I bought a Remington youth size stock and a new forend to match. (He wanted camo.) I bought genuine Remington parts direct from Remington. The stock fits fine however the forend is a bit long. Actually about 1 7/8" too long. It looks identical in terms of the inletting and all. It's just a bit longer. Due to the added length the magazine cap doesn't reach the magazine tube. I thought about cutting off the new forend. I could shape it up nice and re-install the detent and spring used to retain the magazine cap. How about putting a new magazine tube on? I assume they are longer than the old ones and will mate up with the receiver. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks,

Abe

The straight grip stock guns have shorter magazine tubes than pistol grip guns. And the installation is pretty much permanent. Shorten the foreend.
