I quickly bought this rifle one fine day and it is chambered in the 30 Remington, does not suit my caliber needs though. The fella done a nice job with Pilkingtons and even done the Lyman 48 Target as well. The stock is in considerably nice shape. Has the Schnabel forend and neat little round swivel studs that were Pilked too.
I have been mulling to at least rechamber it to another 30 cal. perhaps the .30-30AI as I have one in the Win. 94-a good round and brass is readily available. Even considered the .307 Win. or the .308 but considered the action is big enough for most any .30 caliber into the mag class as well. If that is considered the metal butt plate would whip the bejeezus out of my shoulder I suspect as the rifle is relatively light.
I am at a loss believe it or not on what to do or not but "ideas" would be great for possibilities. The taper of the barrel I think is abit on the little side so ........
thanks.
