Well I finally found a nice 20ga 1100 Special Field. I have been looking for one at the local gun shows for the last couple of years with no luck. So I won what looks to be a pretty nice one on Gunbroker today and I can't wait to check it out. The grouse around here are not going to be happy come September.

This one has a 2 3/4 chamber IC fixed-choke barrel on it. If I want to pick up another barrel, do any of the LT barrels fit? Or does the Special Field have some unique dimensions that require a specific barrel type?

The 1100 Special Field is one fine looking and shooting scattergun!!!

Congrats on the 'score'.

Instead of buying another barrel or barrels, why not have the current barrel threaded to accept the 20 ga. RemChokes???

I've heard of a couple of 'smiths in California that are very reasonable and supply tubes, as well.

Just a thought.

As long as the serial number of the gun doesn't end in "x" or "n", any current model 1100 barrel should fit. Well, as long as the gauge is the same of course.

Oh yeah, and great purchase. I really like the special field configuration in 20ga. Durn near perfect for me anyway.

IIRC, Special Field barrels ONLY fit that model.

Best check with Remington.

And, IC sounds good for grouse.
