:cuss:I've seen all kinds of articles on the SPR22 double. If you do a google you find all sorts of stuff. All Old,Today I seen an SPR22 in 30.06 on Gun Broker listed as new. It even has Remington written on the side of the receiver? I looked on Rem's web site and it's nowhere to be found?? Also the price has esculated from $500 and some dollars to $1200. ?

What is the real story on this gun?? Is remington offering them now? Does Balkail offer them? .....Really like to hear the real story and the real costs ....if there is any?..........Thanks

They are made by Baikal and imported by remington, I believe they have stopped importing them however. Personally, there is no way I would ever spend over a grand on any Baikal.

There's a gun store here that has one on the shelf and I took a look at it. This particular rifle had some real nice finish to it. The wood to metal fit was nice. I don't know anything about these guns, but this one in particular looked good. It was just shy of $1,200 as well. A bit pricey for me.This one was also chambered for the 30-06. There's a part of me though that thought that it would be a neat gun to have. Most doubles are well out of the price range for the majority of the buying public. I had to file it under someday perhaps.

when they were imported my european american armory they ran around $550-600 & i kick myself for not getting one in 45-70 then. the UAA versions still show up on gunbroker for under $1000

I believe CDNN still has them. I bought an o/u 12ga over 7X57R. Its a bit rough in finish but it actually shoots very well. I think I paid less than $300 if I remember correctly. Its also a little heavy. I keep thinking I should get rid of the one I have but I can't seem to do it. Next year I plan on taking it for deer season in ME. The 12ga would be great for shooting the grouse I see and the 7X57R would be there in the odd event I actually see a deer.

EAA iZH MP221 was the SxS version made by baikal. rem tried to double the price & i guess the deal fell through. here is a link from when eaa sold the rifles for $629

Yes it's a SXS......The recent one on gun broker (I asked the seller) was MFG'd 2 /07......This would mean (I think ) they are still being made and sold through Remington.......Although Rem does not list it on their site. This whole deal is very confusing. I always wanted a double rifle in 30.06 , but the secrecy around this model scares me. If it is in production ? , or will it stay in production ?
