Got the Rem R1, .45 back from the factory via Cabelas and it's working pretty good. Just a slight hitch in the trigger pull sometimes. If it doesn't straighten out with use, I'll take it apart and check it out, but I want to try to wear it in and make sure it doesn't go haywire again before trying to smooth it out.
It doesn't hitch every time, and it's slight, so it may clean up on it's own. It will be smooth...one way or another.
The slight hitch may be related to the auto safety mechanism that's been added to all the newer 1911s. My buddy has one in his Colt that was really rough and caused a lot of drag and I smoothed it up for him, but mine seemed quite smooth when I was checking it out when I first got it. It's not a big deal, since it's not a target pistol and it only does it about once in ten tries. Maybe a little dry lube will help.
