Republican Buchanan Declared Fla. Winner

When things like this go without investigation, why worry about a larger than normal under-vote, unless you are the loser

That's the point. There is this concept called "truth". The person who is declared the winner may not (in truth) be the person that got the most votes. I see almost all politicians as equally harmful to my way of life. I'd rather know with 100% certainty that the person in office is the person the voters chose, and not the person who hired the most efficient "election fixers".

FWIW, after the 2000 election, there were ballot boxes found in various precincts in South Florida that had never been opened; had never been counted. Wouldn't you want to know that your man had been elected honestly? Or is it a moot point, as long as your man wins?

I've said most of what needs saying in the other thread. Nothing I've seen changes my opinion. I have a hard time believing that interest in this congressional race was astonishingly low only in this one county out of four. And that interest in this race was lower than the race for agricultural commissioner.

Now whether the problem was screen layout of the ballots or electronic vote manipulation, I don't know.

The good news is that a judge has ordered the machines sealed and sequestered to be tested later. It's vital we DO find out what's going on here. The county elections officials who approved this junk are highly unlikely to want to provide proof they bought junk, as their credibility is on the line.

So that's liable to be what comes out of the lawsuit by the Democrat: an unbiased evaluation of the machines. Worth doing, that.

As an aside: across the whole nation this year, it seems to have been ES&S's turn to repeatedly blow up. There have been more glitches and goofs connected to ES&S rigs than any others. That includes this one.
