So I gots me a reeeeallly nice 3" SP101. And I gots me a reeeeeeallly new 'super Dremel' to turn my 3" full shrouded SP101 into a matching little brother to my 3" short shroud GP100.

Yup - I wanna home-smith away some of the underlug. I have no problem with that 'cept that I need some leather for it. I want Kevin manley @ K&D Holsters to do the job, but I'd like to avoid the cost of shipping him the revolver.

Granted, I coulda just asked Kevin, but I wanna hear y'alls input too.

QUESTION - will a holster designed for the full shroud 3" SP101 work absolutely fine with my to-be-altered short shroud 3-incher??? If that'll work, that's good - cuz I think kevin has a 3-incher handy for holster making purpose.

What are your thoughts?

It may work, but be little "floppy"...I'm wondering if you used a holster for a 2" SP101 and use that(of course the barrel would stick out the bottom). What has me thinking this is,I use a holster for a 2" k frame for my 4" Speed 6 and it works fine...

Or if I just send pics of the mod and how much of the underlug I removed.....He may be able to 'tighten up' or narrow the last inch or so to accomodate the mod?

Should work just fine. Retention is held at the cylinder and trigger guard not the barrel.
You can remold the holster to fit your modified barrel lug.
