Revolvers languishing in LGS

I know what U mean, I just purchased a S&W model 60-7 LNIB in 99% condition for only $400.

I found a stainless 4" Ruger Security Six with a serious case of carbon fouling and a set of BUTT UGLY grips hanging forlornly in my local LGS. I was out the door with it for $400. After disassembling it and spending 4 hours de-grunging, it's turned into a very clean piece. A set of Hogue grips are on the way, a Triple K holster is caressing it now and my need for a 4" .38/.357 is solved for the rest of my life, and probably my sons life as well. Yeah, it's not a Python but it will do, nicely.

Not in my parts either....There was exactly ONE Smith 686 stainless in the counter where less than a week ago there were five or six other revolvers.

Nothing is staying long in these parts.

Must be the going rate. I paid similar just recently for a similar gun. Mine came with pachys and a Bianchi holster though. Its been a loooong time since I've seen one of those Rugers in any of the local shops.

Single action revolvers are still on the shelves in my area but there's not a lot of double action revolvers left. Of course ALL of the Glocks, XD's, XDMs, etc are gone.
Some M1911's are left though.

I've noticed more Colts and Dan Wessons turning up, and some of these at the shop with the $1600 Mini-14.

Prices range from pre-panic to LOL!!11!!, but I haven't spotted any particularly good deals.

I was happy to liberate a nice '76 Colt Trooper MK III 6" from a gun show this past weekend. Always enjoyed and admired revolvers.

I found a Colt Army Special in .32-20 for $329.
Nice and tight.
Not collector grade, though. It has been parkerized, due to the original bluing having gotten ugly.
One of the employees told me I could talk them down $100-120 on it.
Can't tell it the grips are original or repops. They look awfully good for the age of the gun.

I love all of my totally "un-tactical" fixed magazine rotary guns. I can still remember when one day everyone suddenly realized that they "needed" at least 15 rounds to defend themselves. Then, everybody realized they needed a poly gun because that nasty old steel junk was just TOO HEAVY. Sure. Just keep telling yourself that, all of you "tactical operators".

If they do, they'll be ashamed at how slow their Tupperware guns are.

God forbid, they ever learn that the operator is more important than the equipment.

I've actually picked up some prize revolvers while this time of frantic plastic buying is going on. Can't help but wonder when I find an old pristine S&W complete with box and papers if this wasn't grandpas prize he bought way back when and cherished and now it has been traded in on a black gun.

LGS does a pretty brisk business in wheel guns. Of course he sells more of the plastic fantastic autos. 1911s do quite well too. Sme of those things with round mags are even single action.

I need to go where you live. P&R Smith & Wesson's command a high price. Even pre-lock model 10s are over $500 in my area. Gone are the days I could buy beautiful model 10s for $300

Quite frankly I have enjoyed the harvest of fine revolvers, traded in for lesser guns, for some time now.

I picked up a 6 inch 14-5, a LNIB 4 inch 19-3 with box and docs and a 4 inch full lug 1 of 131 Performance Center 14-6. Whoever let that last one go needed their head examined.

I'm ashamed to admit how little I spent for those three beauties. I'm glad that the upcoming crop of handgunners has so little taste in firearms.

I was happy to give a new home to that one year old GP100 that was traded in on a Tupperware gun.
Then, there was the Ruger Mk2 that was traded in, unfired, for a Tupperware Block.
It languished with a very reasonable price tag, until I spotted it.

I have three plastic fantastics, but no ferrous guns were orphaned to fund their purchases.

I consider myself very lucky that I have the 2 "high Cap" guns I care about already in my inventory. Now I can focus on revolvers again. Performance Center, here I come. I have all the plastic and tacticool crap I need.
