I am planning to (again) re-stock my '17 Enfield. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=612740&highlight='17+Enfield My intent is to correct all the mistakes I made when I first fitted and finished a sporter stock for the rifle, also significantly upgrading the quality of the wood to AA or AAA fancy. Richards seems to offer nice wood and styles like I am looking for.
Any of the wizards here have experience using Richards Microfit stocks? Quality? How close is the fit? (I intend to ask for their optional + 1/16" for glass bedding) Was the wood you got in line with the quality you ordered?

TIA
Roger

I bought a semi fancy stock from RMF in the mid 1990s. It took several months for them to ship me the wrong stock(I ordered a Monte Carlo for a Savage 111 and got a thumbhole sporter for a Remington 700). After another wait of a couple of weeks I finally got MY stock but had to threaten them that I was keeping the thumbhole if they didn't send a pick-up order. As far as the stock I ordered,it was VERY nice, beautiful wood! It had a rosewood fore-end tip and grip cap and I had ordered a Pachmyr De-cellerator recoil pad installed (excellent fit). The outside of the stock was extremely ROUGH! It took many hours to finish it but I was very happy with the finished product! Price was reasonable for the time about $150 shipped.

I've used richards microfit before. I ordered a stock for a left hand mini-mauser that was going to be grade A 95% finished. I got nice enough wood, but not as nice as I thought I would get from their pictures, and 95% was more like 70%. Took several months to come in too. If I had it to do over again, I'd use somebody else.

Now, to be fair, a left handed mini mauser is not a common gun, and I understand not making a true 95% gun, but I still feel they misrepresented what they could deliver.
