At long last, I have a decent picture of my baby.

This is my DS Arms STG58A "Authentic Austrian FAL". Type II receiver, Austrian parts, DSA mock-Stoll muzzle brake (makes it loud). In the picture the rifle is wearing a humpback Penguin buttstock and non-bipod-cut handguards, and an Ergo G3-style grip. The sling is missing, as this was just after the front sling swivel screw has popped out.

The rifle now wears a DSA synthetic handguard set (bipod cut) with handguards mounted front sling swivel (which I'm going to move to the right side one of these days). I also have a quick-detach folding bipod mounted, but it adds about a pound of weight.

Off and on with the scope mount, but I'm determined to get good with the irons first.

Very nice. There aren't many rifles nicer than a good FAL.

I just picked one up from a guy on the falfiles board, built by Jayson at IGF, couldn't be happier. :D :D :D

Good on ya. I just got a DSA STG58A on a Type 1 reciever. I so far have left everything as delivered (including metal handguards, pistol grip, carry handle and light bipod). I have a TAPCO 3rd gen scope mount on it as well.

After my first range session to break in the bore, adjust the gas regulator, get the sights dialed in and do basic accuracy work (with Port mil-surp only tho), I do know a few items I'll change:

* Swap rear sight for a DSA short Belgian-style hooded small aperature rear sight (that stock one is too danged big of a hole)
* Swap pistol grip for a DSA M249 SAW grip (that stock one is too danged swept back)
* Everything else is "just right" (for now)
