Rifles You Regret Selling

A Winchester 94 made in 1972, I traded for a Mosin Nagert 91 made in Finland in 1944. But i still miss that rifle and I offered the guy who ended with the rifle a brand new Marlin for it and he turned me down.

I also give another Winchester 94 to another friend and that one I don't regret at all.

I have been happy getting rid of every rifle I have sold. I either got more for it than it was worth and replaced it or I didn't have a use for it and bought something more fun. I try to only buy rifles I will like but the occasional fluke pops up and needs to go.

all of them that i sold as a dum kid for fire crackers, chrome valve covers, ton of other stupid crap= 30-30 marlin, rem 25-06,several 22s,sks,Stevenson double barrel coach,rem1100trap,ruger singal six,CVA Kentucky rifle kit i built, win pump,10-22, my dad should of stopped me.i could still cry over that old stevenson coach:banghead::banghead:

Not really. Most every firearm I have sold was because I purchased them on a whim and had no real interest in them or need. So eventually I came to my senses and sold them and bought something else.

I turned a Colt Python into two Colt revolvers. Never looked back.

I turned a Mossberg Chuckster (22WMR) into a custom knife.

I turned Smith Model 25 into a Colt Diamondback back before they were so expensive.

I turned a Uzi Mini Carbine into other guns during the Clinton AWB.

What goes around comes around.

No real regrets...

I think Karma is teasing me on one of them though.

Years ago, I picked up a Sako Deluxe Finnbear in a pawn shop, combination of cash and a pistol, it was mine. Great wood, solid shooter. I reached the point where I never really shot it much. Listed it for sale a couple of times.

Ended up trading it for a .308 M70 heavy varmint with a scope. Sold the scope, traded the .308 for a BPS in 10 ga, sold the 10 ga. Got what I had been asking for the Sako in the end.

The teasing part is: the guy I traded it to has tried to sell it several times over the years in the local ad paper. His first asking price was about 2500.00. I think the latest price I've seen is 800 or 900.00.

I wouldn't mind having it back, except I doubt I would shoot much, which is why it went in the first place. :D

I have one..a dumber-than-a-box-of-pet-rocks-stupid...

Sold a Marlin Camp Carbine .45ACP in a moment of utter foolishness.

A Marlin 22mag (25MN). It was a honest to true out of the box tack driving 22mag. One day after finally sighting in the $50 scope I was going nuts trying to find the target. I would hit the first shot and the second was missing. I had to walk up to the target and "wow! thats was a lucky shot". Tried it again and again and at 80 yrds I could honestly shoot the same hole over and over. My buddy was just amazed. I drove 25 miles one way to buy more bullets just to keep shooting it. At our yearly shoot out with all the 223's, 308's, and various wildcats everybody wanted to shoot it as a novelty. That gun was a circus freak!
5 yrs later I sold it as a partial trade. No real big deal but it is a fun story to share.

I have had a few that I should be dragged out and beat for selling.

A Martini cadet 32. win
1873 Springfield 45/70 trapdoor
Remington #6 rolling block .22
Ruger Single Six Hunter .22

The last is a handgun but I miss the heck out of it. I had this moron phase where I thought new was better. Anymore I try and buy older guns if I can.

i dont regret getting rid of most of the guns i have sold or traded, but i do miss the M1a NM i traded for an AK and cash a few years back.....that is what happens when you have to feed 2 hobbies..not anymore

Sold a very nice pre-ban Colt Match HBAR that I still regret selling. Regret has become more acute with the current run on all AR-type rifles.

Also regretted selling a nice straight-stocked Marlin 336 RC. But I was able to rectify that recently with the purchase of an equally nice straight-stocked 336 Texan. :D

But don't get me started on handguns ...

Remington something or other 1980's production youth .243 bolt rifle that was my first deer gun. Very accurate, shot at least 9 deer and a few coyotes with it. Traded it on a Winchester MDL 70 .22-250 that I almost never use. Stupid.. stupid.. stupid, in my defense I was young. I'm just now 20 years later getting my deer rifle situation sorted out again after a few false starts on crappy guns.

Ruger #1 in .270 Weatherby -- I still have to listen to my brother rant about that one!
It was my first center fire rifle.

Traded a beautiful CZ82 for a Bubba Enfield Jungle Carbine . After first shooting the scope fell off. I sank a bunch of money in it and never got it fixed properly. Sold the damn thing for $100 and never looked back

Ruger .44 mag carbine I know your thinking there is still alot of those around, but I put time into that rifle it was beat up when I got it and would not load correctly. When I got done with it it ran like a clock. Felt perfect in the hand. Also a WASR 10 I had it had no problems and really was a gun that got me addicting to shooting.

Two nice, pre-safety 30-30's at different times, a 336CS, and a 336 with the gold tone trigger.:banghead:

My childhood Rem 580 .22 single shot bolt action. Wish I still had it every time I see an armadillo in my yard. :(
