Condolences, Sympathies, prayers for the family. Having their hands full with this, and Mother. I've lost very close family to both lung conditions & Alzheimers.

Thank you for your Service Sir, and R.I.P.!

Wow. One of my mentors here, when he was not threatening to choke me lol. Will be really missed, big time.

I just saw this and have to say, what a shock!!
RC was a great guy.
He helped me out with a few personal pm's that he could have just ignored, but he didn't . You could just tell this man knew his stuff. What an incredible loss to THR, and humanity.
God's speed.

Oh how sad. I learned more from him than any other single person on this forum. I think because our interests aligned although our backgrounds are utterly dissimilar. RC did about a thousand things I think about. The one thing I actually do is leatherwork. M

My father died of the same thing...ARDS (Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. It comes on with some kind of trauma to the lungs. In Richard's case, sounds like Influenza or Pneumonia or both. He chose the right way. It's about 98% fatal.

The world is a smaller place today. I will miss him. RIP RC.

So very sad. RC answered many of my questions when I was hanging out here so much years ago when I was first getting into the hobby. I was always interested in what he had to say on other peoples threads as it was obvious he was very knowledgeable on all types of firearms and reloading.

R.I.P RC

I loved reading his posts. What a terrible loss. Condolences to all those who knew him well.

RIP rcmodel, you were a wealth of knowledge and will forever be remembered as a pillar of THR.

I will miss him, too.

Rest in Peace, and comfort to the family.

Bull Nutria - I have read and enjoyed posts by rcmodel for a number of years. I am sorry to hear of his passing and my condolences go out to his family and to you, who just lost a friend. I want to say how moved I am by your thoughtful, eloquent, and loving eulogy. I am often skeptical of Internet friendships since so many of us have enough trouble with face to face relationships, but your story elegantly shows that true friendship can result from the most chance encounter. Thanks to you, I know rcmodel in a more meaningful way than before and am better for it. I am also better for having witnessed your testimony and salute to a friend. God bless RC, his family, and certainly you and yours.

RC sent me a PM a few months ago with his pet 03A3 load to try in my Dad's rifle. Never got around to doing it.

I will load some up this week and shoot them in his honor

Condolences to RC's family! Knowing what he meant to an online community and the loss that THR is going to have, it is quite obvious there is a much bigger hole in his family tree he is leaving. His wealth of knowledge, wit, and generosity of his knowledge will be missed greatly around here!

Very sad to hear this. I read a tremendous number of his posts...he seemed to be a great guy as well as knowledge resource. RIP RC.

I have learned a lot from RC over the years. He was full of wisdom and a true asset here on The High Road. He will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

i can't tell you how many times I've opened a thread to answer a question for someone, only to see that RCModel had been there already. Without even reading it I new the OP had gotten the best answer already...so I wouldn't even post once I saw his name.

Sadly, we're all going to be doing the heavy lifting now. I had this similar experience many, many times over the last 5 years or so.

Hopefully we can be as helpful, funny, and attempt to mimic that light touch that just all but evades me....which Richard exuded constantly.

This is a hard one to process.

My prayers are with him. He was a good friend to the THR and to me. He taught me an incredible amount over the years. My condolences to his family. This is a very sad day.

As sad as I have been at the passing of anyone I didn't know personally. Thank you for your service RC, well done!

RIP RC, you will certainly be missed on THR. Condolences and prayers to Richard's family.

He definitely gave great advice in a personal way. I enjoyed every one of his posts and learned something from every one of them. He will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. His passing is truly a loss to THR and the gun community at large. Didn't know the man , however, anytime someone had a question he seemed to have an answer.
