My current mag powders are #9, 2400 then 4227. I haven't tried the h110/296 but that would be on the short list in the application where you need full power. In a hunting situation the most accurate at or within a grain of max would be my goal.

You're dancing all around it. Aren't you?
I've done the same with 2400. I have 8 pounds and haven't tested it in anything.

I found that #9 and 2400 meet my needs in every way. I have 2 pounds of SW heavy pistol waiting on me to finish my last pound of #9 after I helped out a friend with my third pound. The only reason I'm not recommending the SW HEAVY PISTOL is I haven't used it. At 29.99 it's at least 5 dollars cheaper than any other option. I will test the crap out of it then if good recommending it based on savings. If ramshot had something between true blue and enforcer I'd be trying that as well.... I find true blue and Silhouette very close and prefer Silhouette.

That’s kinda where No.7 and Blue Dot are sitting. Herco is a good general purpose powder in that range, too. I played with it back before Hercules was sold to Alliant as a replacement for Unique. Decided it wouldn’t do for my needs - Marlin 94 and 4-5/8” RBH hunting deer and hogs at close range in the swamps - and decided Blue Dot, IMR 4227 and 2400 were more worthwhile. Then again, I know lots of folks who swear by Herco so you might investigate it when you have time.

so 38spl in that rossi 92 357 i guess can't take deer either??
We had an entire thread on that lunacy. Let's not start it again please.
The OP had a serious question. While his current load is adequate. He has the components to make an even better one.
