I also own a Rossi 92 in .44Mag. Very nice outta the box. Needed a little polishing here and there...but nothing more than I'd expect to do with any other rifle really. It did have a few more "sharp" angles which would have been radius'd off by others but not a huge deal. Nothing a "tootsie roll", some Fliz and a small wire wheel couldn't make right. Accuracy is very good...

from what I've seen Rossis are pretty crappy firearms.

I used to deal with a lot of Rossi rifles up until about 3 years ago. My impression up until that time was that the quality of Rossi Lever guns got better and better over the years. Now I have heard that their quality has significantly dropped in the last couple of years but I can't comment on that from personal experience. My own model 92 in 357 from about 4 years ago has been a great rifle....

I had a Rossi 92 in .45LC also never had a problem with it, bought it used, but it was smooth as snot form the get go. That was before they started putting that ugly safety on the top of the receiver. I ended up selling mine to CAS friend, as I got a 1873 Winchester replica in .45 Colt and decided to shoot BP. Myself I'd prefer a .44Mag for whitetail deer, however using the proper projectile in .45LC I really don't see a problem. Just make sure you work up your load.

I've bought a Rossi 92 in 357 about 5 years ago and use only use it at the range. It was rough out of the box. Their QA/QC process is weak. The metal to wood fit is not very good. They use these cheap screws that get buggered very easily. I had to smooth the action down based on recommendations from Steve's Gunz ("Kiowa Nate") video and some of his parts. When it works, it shoots OK, kind of finicky on certain brands of ammo. It is fun to shoot for sure.

Been through two ejector bushings so far and it took their Customer Service Dept. 6 weeks to ship out a replacement! The latest part to break was the ejector itself. Rossi won't sell that part. They make you send the whole gun back! Fortunately, I found a spare online but spent hours filing it down to make it fit right.

It's good that there are some who like their Rossi's. Either I got a lemon or your guys are lucky. For me, I'm done with them and would never buy a Rossi/Braztech product again!
