Independent thought from the high-capacity polystriker cabal is a good thing.
Any independent thought is okay with me. Thanks .38 Special for the detailed posts. Good information!

Question: I seem to remember that lapping bullets were once sold already assembled in a few calibers, all rifle just load and shoot. Anything like that exist or is it my foggy memory.

I think the Tubb "Final Finish" kit could be had with prepped rifle bullets. I can't recall ever having seen handgun bullets available, but could easily be wrong.

I recently acquired one. Now I'm wondering how hot load it.

You are missing the whole point. If you want a hot 44........Get a magnum.......Load the special to somewhere between 750 and 900 FPS and be happy. Personally I have used the "Skeeter Skelton" load forever...........MY 250 gr cast SWC pushed by 7.5 grs of Unique. 900+ fps out of my 4 in. guns.

beartooth bullets: 0215222112a.jpg . apparently, the website is down but you might try calling. this is what i used to firelap three, or four blackhawks. i used a bit of bullseye powder and seated the bullets backwards. i think i was getting 500 fps through the chrony for firelapping.

luck,
