I wish I bought both! Both were on the rack when I got this.Very nice! I love my Ruger GSR’s very similar.
I agree after the season is over I may replace scope rings with QD style warne rings just because. Likely never remove the scope. Just for the cool factor. And highly unlikely but never know may bang up the scope hunting and then could use irons. You have a very versatile gun in that configuration and chambering. Not much you cannot do with that combination.
If you can check one out I'd recommend it. The recoil factor alone. It's a trade off with weight I know. But it's also not a 10-12 pound target rifle, everytime I touch one off it surprises me the lack of felt recoil and makes me smile lol. I dig the African safari look too. Big fast back up irons. In case an upstate ny white tail charges meI been itching to get another 06. Nice rifle indeed. It grabbed my interest.
A dremel tool. Added a bit of grip.Beautiful rifle. How'd you do those swirls on the BK9 handle?

It could very well be, Ill weigh it tomorrow loaded. I have a couple lighter options if I'm doing some walking though. My .308 Ruger American's billed weight is 6 pounds. And if I'm taking a scoped rifle on a drive its the one that follows me. Thick woods walking is a 870 smoothbore slug gun or a Ruger 44 carbine.I've had a couple of the Ruger MK-II rifles and like them a lot. They are solid rifles and the only thing I don't like about that one is the laminated stock. A decent synthetic could get the weight down under 7 1/2 lbs including the scope and mounts. That one is probably over 9 lbs scoped.
Weight can be good or bad depending on where and how you use it. Where I hunt that is more than I'm wanting to carry.
or a Ruger 44 carbine
Yep. Exactly for up close and personal... can't beat it.
Great guns! Mine is the newer rotary mag version. They are so light and handy, and pack a big punch.
that radial brake that Ruger is using does a great job, my GSR has very little recoil and it's nonexistent with my 350 MPRIf you can check one out I'd recommend it. The recoil factor alone. Beautiful rifle. Are the sights usable when the rifle doesn't have a scope on? The stock made mine close to useless on the CZ I bought.Absolutely love this rifle, bought it 5 years ago. It's hefty at 8lbs according to ruger website. But it is a very soft shooter, with 150 grain remington core-lokt This year only thing it's taken has been a coyote. Just sitting in tree stand thought I'd share. Hopefully have a deer pic by lunch lolView attachment 1118539
Yes it shot a bit to the right and I adjusted the rear but didn't like how it looked adjusted so I put back to "centered"Beautiful rifle. Are the sights usable when the rifle doesn't have a scope on? The stock made mine close to useless on the CZ I bought.
