I called about 10 gun stores in KY and IN today and no one has any. One dealer told me that at the SHOT show Ruger stated that 80,000 units were going to be made for this year and took orders that week for 250,000 units. Also was told that it might be fall before we see supplies at local stores in bulk. I'm on a list 23 out of 100 at one dealer. The dealer stated it will be 2 or 3 at a time for a while. Bummer.

same story here

No one has them here around the Terre Haute, In. area either. My dealer has not recieved any as of yet, hopes to have a few maybe this week. I am first on his list. He told me hae has never seen such a feeding frenzy for this little gun. Probably willbe that way all this year to. `Probably won't see Ruger offering any variations in the lcp, when they can sell all they can make at the present time.

I have not seen any in northern Indiana yet either. I would like to get my hands on one so I can compare it to the P3AT. I hear the Ruger has better fit and finish.

There's one at the Scheels here, at least, was 2 days ago, and it had been there awhile. Course, we don't have concealed carry here, so I bet that's a factor.
Those that want them might try dealers in WI and other places without CC or where CC is difficult to obtain.

I was at a local shop this weekend and the salesman indicated they originally got three in, those sold before they hit the case, and they can not get more in although the are ordering more. It is clearly a popular gun.

mcquaak- I was in Kiesler's today and the guy told me they had 50 of them on order! Of course, they didn't have any in stock as I'm sure they are one of the places you checked. Two other places I've checked don't have any either. I'm seriously thinking about blowing my LCP ca$h on another gun then saving up a few more bucks to get one later.

if your willing to pay out of your ___ then go to gunbroker but ill wait till they are on the shelf for good

ojdidit - I did call Kiesler's. Same story you got too. I would and could blow my cash for another pistol but I really wanted a small auto for a long time. Summer is coming and the LCP fit the bill perfect since I was already looking at the KT P3AT.

What brand and model do you plan to move on to? Just curious.

Hmmm....i was picking up my new Witness Elite Match and they had one on display....never really considered getting one but after holding it I could see how it'd be VERY nice in warm weather months.

Reading this thread makes me think that maybe I should go back tomorrow and get the thing sooner rather then later.

BUT my wife would kill me if I bought another gun 2 days after I bought the Witness....and an angry wife is no fun

mquaack - This may sound strange. I saw the new Walther SP22 at Shooters Supply and I think I may pick one up. Since the price of ammo has gone crazy, I bought a Ruger MKIII (.22LR) and I have been shooting the heck out of it and really enjoying it. I put optics and all this stuff on it and have really had a blast with it, but I have been wanting another .22 auto in more of a standard configuration to shoot as well (read iron sights and standard grips). I'll just keep carrying my SW J-frame until those LCPs hit the showrooms. At this rate, I'll have plenty of time to recoup my cash from the Walther, especially since it will be almost free to shoot!

A local gun shop had two in stock and they were asking $499, which was ridiculous. It is a better gun than the P3AT, but not worth twice the $$. Side by side, the P3AT and LCP look almost identical.

I am not convinced, personally, that the Ruger will be ANY better than the KT and I don't know how you can say that if you haven't even picked one up, let alone put 500 rounds through each.

Local shop said they've had one Ruger, hard to get 'em right now, said they go for $290. Said they're getting a P3AT in next week for $280. I'm not ready to buy, yet, anyway, but if I can't find the Ruger, I will buy the KT. I love that company's attitude when it comes to customer service and the second generation on P3ATs have a good rep.

flphotoguy

that is when you wish you could make a wish and those $500 lcp's rot on the dealers shelves.

PT cruiser feeding frenzy was the same thing, dealers screwed people for that extra bucks. It takes two people though to make a sale. a buyer and a seller, if one is missing, IT JUST DOESN'THAPPEN...

I got lucky, I guess.

Called two dealers two weeks ago. One didn't expect to get any. One said that he'd have a couple in in a few days. Three days later, they called me and I went down and picked it up for $299. He said that he had no idea when he would receive more, but he's had a lot of folks asking for them.

I still haven't had time to shoot it yet. Maybe I should look at GunBroker first.

I hope that all of you who have local dealers that have them for sale way over MSRP remember it next time you are in the market for a firearm and stay clear of them.
And I would let them know why I no longer will be dealing with them.

I'm not worthy

Here's how the weekend of 3-15 played out. On Friday I went to Daddy Rabbits (Lexington NC) looking for the KT. Being after the gun show, there was nothing for at least two weeks. While in there, a fellow shoper mentioned a cleaner copy of the gun not knowing the maker of it. So, over the weekend, I googled "P3AT Look-A-Like" and came to the LCP reviews here (The High Road). It looked a lot cleaner. Monday came and I took a chance with Treasure World about 30 miles from my house. They had 1 in stock. They sold their other one 3 days earlier. He was cool and held it for me to come out there. I dont even have a CC permit, just had a few pistol permits in the kitchen drawer if I had desided to pick up something else. Well, an 2 hours and $400.00 (LCP, hip holster, pocket holster, 50 federal JHP, 100 winchester flat nose, and a cleaning kit) later I was back home unloading. Forgot one thing, ear plugs. I dont need them for the HiPoint 40cal, but this thing is ungodly loud. Sorry for the long story, but I just wanted to say I feel odd having a LCP and seeing all y'all who have known of the gun for months and have not even seen it in person. All in all, I love the gun. It's a great point and shoot gun. This is the first month I have ever owned a gun, let alone go shooting, but I can put 7 shots in the body at 10 yards without aiming. I think thats pretty good myself. Good luck to everyone in the hunt, and I hope y'all enjoy the LCP as much as I have.

I called a gun shop last week and he had one and sold it. He took my name and number and when the next one comes in he would call me. I called him today and was like remember me. He stated my name and number and said as soon as one comes in I am the first call. :D

The other gun shop I am 23/100 which might be year 2009 when I get a call from them. :uhoh:

ear plugs. I dont need them for the HiPoint 40cal,

:banghead:

Yes, you do.

Oh, yeah. Congrats on finding an LCP. Nobody around here has seen them yet, and some haven't even heard of it ("what, y-all don't have Internet?").

OK, I will start wearing plugs with it also. It's just that I didn't have any at all. Now that I got them, I will use them. Thanks
