Edward429451 Is right on the money there.

So if all of you out there that are interested will just send me $199.95 I will send you a brand new Aikibiker Systems Tactical DoubleTap Conversion Unit for your Mini-14. If you act now not only will I include a Tactical DoubleTap unit (broken and bent staple spray painted black) but also a short instructional manual on how to instal and use this device and also safety precautions while using it. (I'll print out a copy of this thread and put it in the package with the broken bent staple I spray painted black.)

You will get this all for the low low price of $199.95! Act now!

I stand corrected, this modification is dangerous:

What's worse, you can put an eye out with that thing! I suggest using my own modification. My staples come standard with a natural stainless steel finish. Buyers can choose from a host of high-tech finishes like Nickel, Parkerizing, Chrome, Realtree camo, OD Green NP3, and Titanium Gold. Don't be fooled by 'spray-painted' wannabes. If you act now, I'll throw in TWO conversion devices and this handy 'Badger Arms Double-Tap' dispenser. All conversions are proof tested and stamped 'BA' for authenticity.

Almost forgot the price. It's only $99.95 plus $10.50 for shipping. My conversion units all come with a bona-fide BATF approval letter. Try getting one of those from that 'other' dealer.

What about THR Bonus Package, the Aikibiker Systems Tactical DoubleTap Conversion Unit for your Mini-14, instructional manual and decorative polymer carrying case (Ziplock Baggie) and free shipping for the one time low price of $249.95?

For an additional $49.95, you can get a lifetime replacement warranty. Just send the damaged conversion unit plus $14.95 shipping & handling and you will receive a brand new replacement in 6-8 weeks.:)

Careful when you buy these things. Some companies may use inferior stapl, err steel and not hold manufacturer toloerances to required specs. Using theirs may cause your gun to keep firing even after laid down with the safety on. Insist on the best and the original.

Here at Edward429451 Systems, we only use the best stap, steel and hand fit our conversions to exacting tolerances. We ship the Deluxe gift pack at a lower price than the copycats. For only $89.95, you get an original DoubleTap in a handsome gift/display box with a lifetime warranty (customer pays shipping). Instructions and installation tool included (special needlenose pliers). In less than two minutes you can be giving those bad guys grief just like the big boys!

Why not make a business of it for fun & profit? For a limited time, Edward429451 Systems is offering Franchises so you too can capture your share of the doubletap market. For the low low price of $1495., you get the Master manufacturer's kit which includes Three DoubleTaps, a supply of Sta, err, steel, precision cutting-machining-measuring devices, machinist drawings & templates.

I think I am gonna regret starting this. Anyone know the penalty for thread hijacking?

It is a shame I don't have a Mini-14 though. I would seriously consider making and selling these things just to see if anyone would buy them.

...and then getting the ATF to change their mind? Nah, please don't. This is much better to be kept as a home-mod type of thing.

Not really.

If it had Wilson Tactical stamped on it people would be all over it.

Nope. For one Wilson Tactical wouldn't risk the liability of manufacturing and distributing it. And a lot of us wouldn't buy it even if they did.

But the folks at Delta Press might show interest, it ties in nicely with those "Build Your Own Fully-Automatic Assault 10/22" books they sell. ;)

I don't care if it's all done with paperclips.
Let's get it right, now, that's staples. Paperclips are too thick. Besides, as was stated earlier, the full-auto trigger will continue to fire until the trigger is RELEASED! Hmmmm, so will the double-tap trigger. The fact that it's done for less than a penny in less than 5 minutes with a staple probably has more to do with your disdain than does any imaginary safety issues. How is an M16 safer than a double-tap modification? If anything, you have control over when the second shot is fired. You get a MAXIMUM of two shots per pull and release.

... you could also modify the secondary sear... however this too would be legal as it is one pressure or function of the trigger. Normally, there are two functions of a trigger - to fire the shot and to reset the trigger. They could easilly modify or add to the laws to eliminate this loophole, but I ain't tellin them how!
i would NEVER reccomend modifying a firearm to fire like this to anyone. the Mini 14 was designed and marketed to fire in the "semi auto" fire more, not in full auto.
Let's get this straight for the sake of accuracy, it's not firing full auto with the staple-mod.

Just a request, but could you resize the scanned letter and the Ruger pic a little smaller? With as large as they are now, it makes it hard to read the thread and the letter.

Wow this is very intresting! I wonder if it would work on other guns?

Anyone out there have any ideas? :)

I want one, and like it's been said before, I pull and release the trigger normally and fast. If I've already fired the first round, I don't think there'll be a need to cease fire that immediately occurs within .004 seconds.

This happened to my FAB-10 that I had my gunsmith lighten the trigger on. Guess what? No children died because of it. I was doing test loads and low and behold I started double tapping. I almost couldn't tell at first. So I dry fired the gun and discovered it was indeed pulling off two rounds. As was mentioned, it went so quick, there was no safety issue. Really all this is is a superfast double tap. The bad part was I only had my test loads and it was only a FAB-10. Had I had a case of FMJ and it was a real AR-15 with a detachable mag, I think I would have had some real fun. I finished my test loads single loading the gun and that was that. I took it back and the gun smith fixed the problem. Basically the trigger was so light that when I released the trigger and the secondary sear let go, the trigger kept going forward and fired again. It was no big deal.

I am a little surprised so many people on here are getting so wound up about this. If someone wants to waste ammo, let em. It isn't the end of the world and it is no more dangerous than pulling the trigger twice. To each their own.

Link to El Rojo's post about this happening to his FAB-10. Hey Badger Arms, it looks like my post was the one you got censored on! What a coincidence. Wait no, it was another one before me. I bet you feel vindicated.

Yep, it was your thread that set me off. I won't say anything else about it as I want to keep it civil. Wouldn't have put this much effort into laying this all out without somebody telling me I couldn't.
Just a request, but could you resize the scanned letter and the Ruger pic a little smaller? With as large as they are now, it makes it hard to read the thread and the letter.
It's too late to modify anything in the thread. That picture is too old. I'll see if I can't dig up the original and get back to you.

I wouldn't recommend this because I don't like it. It sounds evil and scary and nobody NEEDS to have something like this.

Too bad I don't have a Mini-14, I could try this out and offend some people! ;)

Gundealer, check 16 posts above your who's Gweher98 post for his.

He commented on the Delta press FA 10/22 books which he obviously recognized under the 'master manufacturer kit' I spoofed. I put it there just for a backdrop to the pic.

And no, I never did/will convert any gun to FA from one of these books, thats just left over from my 20's when I still had those young mans fancies of FA and got sucked into buying it at a gunshow.

If that's a factory stock, it could be worth $3-400 bucks. If it's a "Falcon Folder," I've seen those go from between $200 and $300. That's for the stock alone. For the whole gun, I'd hate to guess.

Yes, $700 seems about right for what you should expect to get out of it. Funny, Blue Book makes me lots of money. The trick is to know when they are right and when they are wrong. They're usually about five years off the market trends.

old thread, but i was compelled to post in it.

i know a bit about ruger rifles, and have worked in the factory.

what your talking about isnt a '2 shot" burst, its called "release fire". while this isnt full auto, its about as close as your going to get . i spoke to BATFE in length about this after reading this post. while in theroy it may be legal,do not get caught by BATFE shooting it. the one thing about doing this is that, if the trigger is pulled back slowly, it doesnt fire in a 2 shot mode, IT FIRES IN A FULLY AUTO mode in a condition called "slamfire", and is COMPLETELY AND UDDERLY UNSAFE, and a great way to either loose an eye, or to completely destroy your rifle.

this thread is one of the main reasons ruger decided to redesign there mini series rifles. if you dont have an older mini 14 or 30, youd better get one as there going to be few and far between in the near future, thanks to the guy who brought up this "2 shot burst" thread.
