I am curious as to what the going rate would be for a LNIB blued MKII with the 6 7/8" bull barrel, 3 mags, and box with original paperwork. I live in the SE if it makes a difference.

I have not seen pistol, so let me rephrase the question. A friend of mine has a blued MKII with a 6 7/8" bull barrel. He says it looks brand new with the box and paperwork and three mags. That is all the information I have at this point, and I was wondering if someone could give me some idea of the APPROXIMATE value assuming it is in good/great condition.

IMO...if its in like new condition, its worth about the same as the lowest going price on a new Mkiii. Some people are willing to pay more for a Mkii because it doesn't have the LCI, etc.

350-400 depending on condition

I agree. Closer to $400 if someone is looking for the longer barrel than the more popular 5.25 or 5.5 inch models. I am one of those who prefer the MKII over the MKIII every time. WHere do you live?

Just on your side of Chattanooga

With that long, bull barrel, I'd think that it'd sell for $350-375 tops in this area. The shorter bull barrels balance much better, especially if you add a red-dot, etc. Unless you're really in the weeds about Ruger Mk's, they aren't really collectable so AFAIC, having the original box and paperwork wouldn't mean much to me.

In my neck of the woods I would say it would go for somewhere in the $400 to $500 range, depending on if it's really LNIB or not.

If the MKII has not been drilled and tapped for a optical sight mount, it will cost you $65.00 to have Ruger do it. I recently bought a blued MKII for $300 and after the drilling, mount, and Hogue grips, I have about $400 in it. The ultradot was an additional $165.00.

In my area, 5.5 guns are common. $400 will get a nice blue one. A 6 7/8 Government is way more rare and will bring $500. Long barrel?....a 10" blue is $500 easily and a 10" SS is $600.....I am glad I bought my four 10" guns when they came along. As far as balance and long barrels go, I shoot rimfire silhouette matches with them and do very well.

I just paid $300 for my 5.5 Target. It's "like new", but without the box.

I expect that, around here at least, the 6 7/8, with box/papers, could fetch nearly $100 more, as long as the one person who wants one happens to see it. There is still somewhat of a perception that .22LR ammo is scarce (we have three Wal-Marts in this town, so what they carry becomes the de facto standard), so prices on used .22LR-chambered guns are staying pretty flat for the time being.
