Briefly saw one of these in a lgs. It was the owners and was still unfired one of the staff let me check it out. How was the safety ? That particularly rifle seemed to have a floppy safety lever.

I'm hoping a minor detail like that is not the norm, but even so, easily replaced by an AR replacement

Yes, mine also has a floppy safety. That a good way to describe it. Somewhere down the road I plan to replace it with an ambi safety with more realestate for my fingers.

looking tomorrow

My LGS is having their Ruger sale today and tomorrow, they usually have several Ruger big shots there. I actually had the president sell me a 22/45 a few years ago when they first came out at the same store. I hope they have a 6.5 because I plan on putting one on layway at $899.

well I did it

Well the lgs had sold out of the RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor but as my luck (don't know if good or bad) might have it they were taking rain checks on them, and will order one and keep it at the sale price!
There just happened to be a Nikon rep there and he took a rain check on an on sale Nikon M308 scope to top off the rifle. Can't wait to get my hands on them!

My M308 came with a 20moa base and I think they still do. Since the RPR's top rail is already a 20moa offset, it'll be interesting putting the two together.

Hoping mine comes in soon too, though .308 for me.

Uncle Joe that's a heck of a price! I wish I could add some more results to this thread but I'm still waiting to get some glass. Things have come up and I haven't gotten the OK from my wife. I've been given a tentative "this Thursday" but we'll see.

That M308 shouldn't be bad. Basically a Monarch 3 if I'm not mistaken.

What bore guide are people using on their RPR?
I have 2 universal bore guides and a JP AR 15 and JP AR 10 bore guides and none of them fit right. The JP's didn't fit at all.
I was able to use a universal one but it was not held solid in the action.

I played with one at my LGS, and fell in love with it after reading, watching, tinkering, etc. with it.

It's next on my purchase list.
