I have a RL All Weather in 12 gauge, the gun came with Skeet choke tubes. Thought I'd get a few extra for other uses.

What other chokes would you recommend? I'm thinking modified and improved. And where can I find these besides Ruger?

According to this: http://www.choke-tube.com/choke_chart.asp the "old" chokes are the same as Win-choke, which is the same as Mossberg Accu-choke and Browning Invector. It also says the "new" longer chokes are Ruger's alone.

So which do you have? If you're chokes are only 1.5" long, they are Win-choke and you can get them just about anywhere. If they are Ruger's proprietary choke, not so much. Maybe go to Google and type in "Ruger choke tube" and see who might have them.

Improved cylinder and modified would be a very versatile choke combination.

Depends on your intended usage - for sporting clays, depending on my load, I might be using a SK, IC, LM, M, or IM in one or both barrels.

As for replacements, Briley makes them for both 12 and 20 gauge and for pre-92 and post-92 guns

Just measured the tubes, comes to 2.440". I did some internet searches and found nothing really which was why I came here.

What I was afraid of, probably have to buy them from Ruger.

Just looked at Ruger and they do sell the chokes, and at a reasonable price in my opinion.

They are available in X Full, Full, Mod, Imp and skeet. Being new to doubles do I want to buy 2 of each or just one?
