Ruger SFAR Drop

I have a Ruger MPR that has become my favorite AR so I see potential here. I'm not going to rush out and buy one, but this does have my interest.

The one with a 20" barrel comes in at 7.3 lbs which is decent for an AR pattern 308. But still at least 1 lb and as much as 2lbs heavier than many bolt rifles. Scoped and with a loaded 20 round magazine it's going to be closer to 9 lbs, maybe more. But I can still see where I might use it.
They are claiming, then about 0.5 lb lighter than my M&P10 but with a 1.5" longer barrel that also appears to be heavier contour. My M&P10 does not feel AR15 light. But it is no 24" AR10(T) either. Closer to the former. I'd like for someone to put a 3X9 in a mount on the SFAR and give a real world weight and balance report.

And with a loaded 5 or 10 round mag, which is all I would ever use in it.

I think at one point RRA made a special snowflake ar-10 that took FAL like mags. I say like because you could jerry rig FAL mags to work in it.

Yes there were some large frame AR's built to use FAL magazines. I don't recall which brands though.

There is a store near me with the SFAR and the Saint Victor in stock. I intend to wander over there next week to compare them. I really wanted a Saint Victor but the SFAR has intrigued me.
