They are claiming, then about 0.5 lb lighter than my M&P10 but with a 1.5" longer barrel that also appears to be heavier contour. My M&P10 does not feel AR15 light. But it is no 24" AR10(T) either. Closer to the former. I'd like for someone to put a 3X9 in a mount on the SFAR and give a real world weight and balance report.I have a Ruger MPR that has become my favorite AR so I see potential here. I'm not going to rush out and buy one, but this does have my interest.
The one with a 20" barrel comes in at 7.3 lbs which is decent for an AR pattern 308. But still at least 1 lb and as much as 2lbs heavier than many bolt rifles. Scoped and with a loaded 20 round magazine it's going to be closer to 9 lbs, maybe more. But I can still see where I might use it.
