Ruger's new ammunition

Barrels have either right or left hand twist.

I wonder if twist makes a difference?

I am intrigued but will wait for more data before I try them.

:)

Will it matter if you are North or South of the equator??

If it spins counter clockwise will it go in reverse??

Me must have more data!:D:scrutiny:

Not defending it, just saying it's not "new from Ruger". :)

I would like to see some ballistics gelatin tests done by an independent source. Not that I'm planning on throwing out my JHP ammunition for this but it might be interesting.

It might start some little mini tornado and suck it right back at ya.

Has Ruger ever put their name on loaded ammunition before other than this stuff? For I don't remember any before this.

I understand where you're coming from Denis, no different than Hodgdon/Winchester powders. Seems tho the idea is to make folks believe it is a Ruger product, to the point, even Ruger implies it's theirs.

Michael Fifer, Ruger’s chief executive, said “matching up the Ruger brand with cutting-edge PolyCase bullet technology seemed a perfect fit.”

People give this a bad name without trying it. It is brass cased and has a hybrid polymer/copper bullet. The idea is to get a super light, high velocity bullet that does more damage than ball, without the under penetration of hollow points in smaller calibers and short barrels.

With that in mind, this is a great idea for .380 mouse guns and anything with a short barrel. The only thing this fails at is barrier penetration. I question its usefulness in bigger caliber as they already get high velocities , but in the small stuff it seems to have real potential.

I know this is expensive, but it is marketed as self defense ammo, not plinking ammo. I have never seen cheap self defense ammo. It definitely deposits more energy in the target than ball.

Because it is new just like when the Glock first came out there was so many negative things said about it now look all your big Handgun manufactures are copying it and they have the market share of handgun sales.

I'm waiting for one that just disintegrates your target. Until then I'll stick with HP's.
ahh, you're wanting a phaser. the good thing about those is that you can set them to stun if you didn't want to disintegrate your target.
