After getting a S/A EMP 1911 9mm, and loving it, I'm very interested in possibly getting their Lightweight 4" Operator 45.

Looking for all the pros and cons (and pics) of those that own them and any issues you have had in the beginning with them, solved or unsolved, along with performance for those that have some long time and round counts with yours..

And, how much NIB did you pay?, would be appreciated.

Thanks, :)

Seriously, out of the multitudes of members of this forum, nobody owns, or has owned, a Springfield Armory Lightweight 4" Operator 45 that they loved, or hated?

I'm miffed..

i haven't owned that particualr model no but i don't really care for aluminium framed 1911's, though my mc operator is on the heavy side at 42oz IIRC i like the extra weight, and it helps keep the muzzle down.

do you plan on this being a carry gun? if so i would probally go with a 1911 w/o the rail, unless of course it is gonna be a dedicated carry gun with light attached, other wise the rail really won't have much purpose.
