All I can say is wow!! I like this gun.

Took it out today and shot 50 rounds of UMC 180gr FMJ and 20 rounds of Winchester 175 gr Silvertip JHP.

Accuracy was a little wild but that was due to me never shooting the 10MM. Pretty good flash coming out with the UMC ammo thats for sure. Recoil wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. The flyers are from the first 2 mags. After I got used to it accuracy started to come in.

I can hardly wait till I get to the range again and shoot this beast. I have definitely been bitten by the 10MM bug.

:D :D :D :D

This is gonna be my sidearm out in the field. That was the original plan for purchasing this gun. Too big for me to comfortably CCW with. Maybe I need to look into a Witness compact or a G29 for CCW now.

Here's a pic of my poor accuracy with this fellah. Its only gonna get better:D

Edited to say UMC instead of PMC. Maybe I should have my glasses checked again:eek:

You'll shoot yer eye out with that thing! Just send it to me and I'll give it a good home.:D

Congrats on a fine purchase, enjoy your new toy.

Congrats on the 1006. They are very underrated pistols, but have a lot going for them if you're into the 10mm AUTO.

BTW, I think you meant "UMC," which is a Remington product, not "PMC." UMC's 180gn MC 10mm load (shown in your photo) is a warmish 1150fps. Good range load.

PMC does offer a decent 170gn 10mm JHP load @ an alleged 1200fps (product # 10B). Over the last 18 months I've probably run a case or so of it thru my 1006, along with other factory 10mm, like UMC's, and it was quite accurate with both.

Oops, you got me on that. Was just still coming down from my excitment of shooting this hog leg.

Guess the big black letters on the box gave it away huh.

Good to see another 10MM convert. My 1076 was an OK gun, but my Witness is better for me. I like to see what the flat-shooting TEN will
do at 100 yards. Very fun to shoot targets so far away with an pistol
that is not a big magnum.

LUV MY TEN!

Happy to see another 10mm fan.

I don't know what the range was on that target but I would say it's dead!!!

Enjoy your 10.

PMC 10mm Ammo...

Here's a link to the PMC handgun ballistics page:

http://www.pmcammo.com/handgun/handgun_ballistics.html

Notice the 115gr Green(non-toxic) loading at 1350(mild for the bullet weight) and the 200gr loadng at 1050 fps.

Congrats on the 1006! As agtman stated, they are very underrated(and overlooked by many). My 1066 is my everday CCW and with a spare mag, I don't feel the slightest bit under-gunned.

Welcome to the 10mm community!

Welcome aboard, Brother!

Welcome to the 10mm club. The 10mm Automatic is one kick-arse round! Believe me, this round, loaded as you see fit, will do darned near anything within the realm of most handgun work.

The S&W 1006 is an excellent sample of the 10mm auto pistolsmitihing. Heavy enough to soak up the round's recoil, but not to heavy of a piece for field use. Tucked away in a shoulder holster, that 1006 should be everything from a great personal defense pistol, as well as a wonderful 75-100-yard hunting weapon.

Congratulations on your purchase,

Scott
