You cannot equate yesterdays prices to today's market. Back in 1988 or so I bought two 1948 vintage K22 Masterpieces at an auction for $275. I sold one of them to a friend of mine for $250 so I guess you could say that I bought one for $25.
Two weeks ago I picked up another '48 K22, but I had to shell out seven bills for it. The first one came with the original box, sight adjustment tool and "Helpful Hints" brochure, the second was just the gun. If I waited for another deal like the first one, I would be waiting forever. As it is, I feel I paid a fair price for the newest one.
