I just ran across a 80-85% S&W 28-2 with the 4" barrel at gander mountain while on lunch break. It was marked $250. What is the blue book on this pistol?

$245 for 80%. However, the Blue Book can low-ball quite a bit when it comes to some of the older Smith and Wesson revolvers. It lists the price for a 100% S&W 27-2 as $440 or thereabouts. *snort* I wish.

Buy the darn thing. Now. Run. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Finding any S&W N frame in decent condition for less than $400 should make you squeal like a little girl as you reach for your wallet.

I put it on layaway today...$271 otd! The gun was more like 90% on closer inspection and ONE OF THE SMOOTHEST TRIGGERS I HAVE EVER FELT! Smooth like butter and broke like glass!!!! I hooked on older S&W's now!!!!!

Welcome to the club. I didn't quite STEAL mine the way you did:))) but I still consider it the best $475 I ever spent.

Yep, before I picked up that 28-2 I thought the best trigger I had felt was on my father-in-laws early 1960's colt comander! I am truly impressed with S&W quality!

I wish they had a truckload at $250! Right next to the 28-2 was a used armscor 4" .38 for $219...I have NO idea how Gander Mountan prices used guns!!!!!
