  are the smith presentation boxes really worth anything?i recently acquired a 625-2 with a pres.box and someone told me to put it on e bay and make some money off of it.anyone know about this ? and wouldnt the box be worth more with the gun in it?

Like everything else these have zoomed in price recently. I bought them for years at $5 to $10 each. No more. Now, a crappy S&W box with a badly deteriorated interior will bring $40-$50 and a really nice one can fetch $100 or more. The older cardboard boxes from the 1950s and earlier can bring hundreds of dollars from collectors.

Here are my presentation cases. Yes, they all have guns in them.

Generally speaking threads are not deleted unless there is a compelling reason to do so. They become part of the "library" of info. When replies stop it will fade to the pages of history.

I would leave the gun in its original box. You can sell it but you would decrease the value of the gun by a similar amount to the selling price.
