I ordered a new Saiga x39 from Mississippi Auto Arms, only $329+$25.s/h
The conversion on this will be much easier, and yet just as much fun as my S12.
New FCG, install PG & other furniture, bullet guide & comp... Done.
About $250-$300 in parts to convert.

MAA once again shines with their CS.
Tuesday place phone order.
Wednesday I called to check if it shipped.
MAA informed me that my FFL's license was out of date and that they'd called'em and requested a current copy but did not have it yet.
I called my local FFL and cracked the whip, made sure it was faxed, and called MAA again to make sure they had it.
Thursday around lunch time, MAA calls to say they are getting ready to ship it.
Friday my FFL calls about lunchtime and says it arrived.
Damn, what'd they do, overnite it?
Going to pick it up tomorrow morning

Well she is my hands, picked'er up this afternoon.
Strolled out and put ten rounds through'er offhanded at 50 yards, firing as fast as I could get the sights back on target, all ten inside 6".
Receiver is '09, arsenal paperwork is March '09, dimpled receiver with PG hole already cut, is a plus.
Didn't get the milspec barrel I was hoping for, i.e. not stepped with lower retainer notch.
I won't know if the barrel is threaded or not, until I remove the FSB's barrel sleeve.
Disassembled and started conversion process.
This one will have to be done one part at a time if I can't scrounge up something to sell
..........................................
Dremels are proof that God still loves Man!
Grind three rivets, pound them out, pop the receiver/trigger guard plate off and presto.
PG hole is there as I already noted, and you can see the original trigger hole is setup for a single hook FCG.
Now its time to clean/degrease and paint.
Then I cut the barrel sleeve off and... Hell Yeah! Threads
Just a lil'bit of brown crud, it cleaned right off, sometimes the crud is thick/hardened and a PITA to remove... Small blessings.
Now I just have to decide on a comp/brake, I was going to go with the AK74 style, but I also like a simple slant comp... Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Wife said if I give up my daily energy drink(s), I could use the CC to order my conversion parts. She said the savings in one month would cover it.
I've been needing to do this, tried, failed, tried, failed... Ya get the picture.
I made my promise, no turning back now or it'll be a serious case of
