I'm thinking about pulling the trigger (no pun intended) on a Saiga 7.62 x 39. I have been unable to find information on gunsmiths that do conversions, and I was wondering if you guys could recommend companies/people that do conversions, and what I should expect to spend. Links would be helpful. I already know about the bigger players like Kerb's Customs and Tromix.

The reason I ask is because I am considering the Saiga versus a DMPS AR-15 or a WASR-10. If a basic conversion will cost upwards of $350, I might as well go with the AR-15.

You should consider doing the conversion yourself.
It'd also be helpful to know what area of the country you live in as most regions have a good "local" gunsmith that can do the conversion for you if you're not feeling mechanically inclined.

Cadiz Gun Works in Ohio does conversions and is almost caught up. They do the warranty work for RAA (Saiga Importer). Tromix is not taking conversion orders at the moment.

Go to forums.saiga-12.com for more saiga smiths.
