5 shots, 200 yds Wolf 123 gr. HP Rifle: Sig Sauer USA 556 7.62x39 Scope: Redfield revolution 2-7x33

Grid is 1" on this target; properly zeroed each of these shots would have been accurate enough for game such as hogs.

dvd like to see what it could do with some brass ammo or reloads

Anyone with the fancy software care to measure the MOA for us?

Well, 1" is commenly refered to as 1 moa at 100 yards. (Not exact, but close enough) measure from the outside to outside of the two furthest shots then minus your bullet diameter (.311) then divide by 2 (200 yards) this should be your center to center moa. My S.W.A.G would be around 3 moa. Not bad for wolf 7.62x39 at 200. Any pics of the rifle?

Tell me about a good factory hunting load and I'll go get some.

Ouch. Hopefully its more accurate with some other ammo. My M&M M10 AK can do 2-2.5 moa all day long with Golden Bear/Barnaul and an Aimpoint.

Here's some targets I shot last year at 100 yards, however I used my 556 standard lower because it has a better trigger

For comparison, here is a couple targets shot a 100 with my AR, using Yugo ammo.

Do you reload? I know hornady makes a couple real nice bullets in .311. If not, I think winchester makes a softpoint load, but Im not 100% certain. Good luck and good shooting.

What do you mean "ouch" ?

Sorry, I meant no offense, I just figure a $1200 (ish) rifle should be capable of better than 3moa. I'd be interested to see what it could do with a good rest and better ammo/handloads. Should be able to get in sub 2moa region easily, maybe even cut group size in half.:)

No offense taken . There are more accurate, lighter guns for the money. The Sig is its own animal. This is not my best group or a select group, just happened to be the first one I fired. That said I was happy, I don't see any likely misses on a hog or even coyote for that matter.

Those are all nice looking rifles. I agree, for 200 yards, and Wolf ammo...not bad at all. Thanks for sharing it with us. Nice toys!

The 556R is capable of some very fine accuracy and has become one of my favorites in 7.62x39mm.

Update
I tried the federal power shok 123 gr. SP load this evening, 10 shots went 3 MOA with 4 of the first five at 1.5 MOA and one flier opening the group. The rifle went 5 for 5 on a 6 inch gong at 200 yds. So hunting accuracy is there at 200. I am wondering if the first shot is the flier. If so aiming a little low on the first shot is easy enough.

dvd is the 3 MOA at 100 or 200 yds

If firing from a clean cold bore most guns will have a different POI. Shoot a couple rounds before shooting for score. I have found a lightly oiled bore after cleaning can somewhat simulate a fouled bore.

To the OP: decent 200yd groups considering Wolf

Heres one with an AR upper using Golden Tiger. I was able to get about 1 inch at 100 yds (no pix).
