Anyone know what happened to Sarsilmaz autos in the US. I know they are making the AR-24 for Armalite, but had a chance to look at one recently and it was a very nicely made all steel gun. Looks like Academy was selling them at one time, but I haven't been able to find a US distributor.

Armalite is a poor marketer. The AR-24 is a fine handgun. It is NOT a clone of a CZ. It is however a very good adaptation. It has some nicer features over the CZ 745B, but came in a little high. It is a sleeper.

Bud's actually has the AR-24 cheaper than the comparable CZ. Unfortunately out of stock on most models. I wouldn't mind comparing one to my CZs.

I got a Hancer 2000 (AR-24) when Academy was giving them away for $278.00. I think the Sarsilmaz name was unknown to most. It's become my favorite range gun, goes every time I do. All steel da/sa 13+1 whats not to like.

I think they are a gun show sleeper if you stumble across one. I know it's high on my list .

Sarsilmaz Hancer 2000 Magazines

December 28, 2010
Just thought that I would share my experience today with you guys about the Sarsilmaz Hancer 2000. I know it is difficult to find accessories for this gun like extra magazines so on trial and error I purchased some EAA Witness Compact 13 Round Magazines and they worked flawlessly in my Hancer without a single jam. So if you are looking for a magazine that will work for the Sarsilmaz Hancer then try the EAA Witness Compact 13 Rounders, they worked for me. If anyone can tell me of any custom grips available for this gun please let me know. I really like this gun and would definately like to enhance my Hancer with some fancy wood grips. THANKS!!!!!

That and "fine Turkish engineering" just doesn't have quite a solid a ring to it for most consumers ;)

They're a clone of the Tanfolgio interpretation of the CZ-75, so Witness mags should run fine in them.

Picked up my AR-24 Compact today, ergonomics are great, and a cursory glance indicates excellent metalwork. Unfortunately I won't be able to test it for a few days.

As far as doubts about Turkish engineering, I have no concerns. Turkey has a fine firearms tradition, and Sarsilmaz is using state of the art CNC machines. The slides, frames, and barrels on the Hancer and the AR-24 are made from 100% forgings rather than castings - a rarity today.

$278 ???? You bastard !!!!!! why didnt you tell me !!!!:D They are seriously underrated firearms . I would have jumped on that if I knew about them at that time .
How long ago was that ?

Took my AR-24 and ran the first 150 rounds through it. Very nice pistol! Ergonomics work for me. Fits the hand differently than the CZ75, more like a Baby Eagle. Function was flawless.

Very underrated pistols!!!!! They may be heavy but they hit what you aim for!!!! !!!!

There is little of CZ75 and Sig210 in there and made mostly of forged steel components. There are few thinkers out there and most gun guys just buy the name on the slide or the frame.
