Saskatchewan waterfowl hunt.

Woot! I got to hunt in Saskatoon about 10 years ago. Dad had always wanted to hunt "the stupid ducks." By the time they get to Arkansas, they've seen just about every kind of decoy ever made, heard just about every call there is, and been shot at a lot. So all the ducks that make it this far are either smart or bulletproof.

Have a fantastic time!

Have a great time relaxing up there in Canada, eh? I see fishing is in the plans also.........don't forget to hit a Timmy's or two on the way.

I'm not sure what Tim Horton 's is....?
I do know we buy Tim Horton brand coffee whenever we can find it.....enlighten us, plz!

Great! If you enjoy it half as much as a buddy and I enjoyed our two 4-day hunts near The Pas In northern Manitoba, you'll be ecstatic.
The only drawback will be that the ducks won't be in the mating colors. It's a bit difficult to tell the drakes from the hens. Manitoba had a limit of 8/day. We killed 8 mallards one day and 8 cans the next. Also killed a passel of ruffed and spruce grouse and loaded up on lake trout.

I hope the hunting is goid

Oh man....that sounds perfect.
#1 son and me, along with another father/son duo. Our sons were classmates. We have been on several waterfowl hunts over the years....but this will be the furthest.
We are ready to fish....but I didn't think of grouse...!

I looked through my older photos and found this one of the grouse the two of us killed one day.

Barely have cell service here near chitek and spiritwood Saskatchewan.
We four hunters took 22 greater and one lessor Canadian Geese and 13 mallards and two Pintails this am.
We have to stop hunting Geese at noon, but we're back in a blind waiting for some ducks.

We took 6 more since I typed this....
Pics later this evening.

Are you using layout blinds?
I used one for the 1st time in Manitoba. They are great in a field. We slayed the mallards. No geese though.

We went back out yesterday afternoon and finished our limit of 32 ducks. 30 mallards and two Pintails. 20230904_194018.jpg
When we returned to the lodge, the other party of hunters from Alabama had taken two 300+lb bear. 20230904_212932.jpg
They were nearly identical in size so I only post one picture.

We went back out thus am interested took 32geese and 23 ducks 20230904_112827.jpg 20230905_073418.jpg 20230905_092129.jpg we have had great sport, beautiful weather, and good food.

We have the option for layout coffins, but we have been using panel blind. It is nice to be able to visit. That and we have been getting the limit.

Not wanting to hijack the thread , but how difficult and how far in advance did you do paper work to get permission to take the shotguns across? Sounds like you are in for a great time. Good luck and safe travels.
I did my ppwrk weeks in advance....son did his hours in advance of leaving home....cheerful, helpful, friendly border agents quickly got us back on the road without any fanfare whatsoever.

The forms were simple make. Model. Serial numbers.
Border agents didn't even look at our guns...(or anything else).

Thanks, good to know. Good luck!
