Was looking for some help on the value of this model 11 in .270WSM.
Has a 24" barrel.
If it was yours and you put it up for sale, what would you ask?
Thanks for your help

Thanks for the info. I tried to look it up but couldn’t find the exact model with the sight and 24” barrel etc.

That is a standard Model 11F which is the base model for Savage when it comes to their centerfire Model 10 series rifles. Yes the Model 10 series includes the Model 11,12,14, 16 etc. The only models below that are the Axis and older Edge rifles.

It would depend somewhat where you live and the market there. I've bought 2 in the last 3 years. One was a private sale from another members Father for 350, the other end from a lgs and was listed for 450.00, I offered 425 which the owner accepted, it came equipped with a Harris bipod, Nikon monarch 3 4 -16 optic, and ,I found out later, a rifle basix Sav 2 trigger. Most savage m11, m111 series rifles, used that I see retail price in my area ate around 400 to 450.

And unless the scope has been swapped out, I am willing to bet it is one of the package deals with a cheap scope on it.

Now if I were to try and sell my Model 12 FVL with the scope and stock on it, I would definitely expect it to go for a higher price. The FVL MSRP was right around $800 and that didn't include the Choate Varmint stock or Bushnell Elite 4500 6-24 MIL-DOT scope.

Blue book for 100% gun is $475 plus $23 for WSM. Of course, if it's been in the field, it ain't 100%. 90% is $285 plus $23.

thanks. not sure if it came with the scope, it is a model with sights on it. Just a BSA scope however.
Thank you all again for the information, much appreciated!

Some of the package deals had iron sights and came with a cheap scope. I would still expect it to go for around $300 or so.

The short magnum cartridge rifles aren't very popular anymore, and it cost more money to convert them to anything else than the rifles worth.
In general you have a $300 - $350 rifle.

The WSM isn't going to do you any favors in terms of price. I'm not a fan, so that would figure into my price if I were a buyer, and since I'm not, and have a distaste for anything WSM and WSSM, I won't share my thoughts on pricing since it's not relevant to the actual value of the rifle.

I seriously considered buying one when there was dozens of boxes oh ammo for sale cheap at one of the local gun shops
I missed out those few weeks a year or so ago when target sports had win boxes for $26 for 7wsm.
My brother still has the sister rifle in 270wsm to mine, I'll keep trying to get it cheap lol.

The 270 and 300 WSM's are doing just fine, but not the Savage version. The WSM's were a great concept that almost no one understood. Apparently even the manufacturers. Kimber was the only rifle manufacturer who designed a rifle around the cartridges strong points.

For whatever reason mag capacity is only 2 in a Savage rifle with any of the WSM cartridges. You CAN load 3 rounds in the mag, but not close the bolt unless the top round feeds into the chamber. You end up with a 2+1 capacity rifle. Every other magnum cartridge is 3+1 and non magnum rifles are either 4+1 or with several brands being 5+1.
