A few months ago I picked up a used LNIB Savage/Stevens 200 in .30-06; no dig camera so no pics, but it is basically a Savage 110 without sights and has the older Savage stock design in a gray polymer with matte blued finish on the metal; http://www.savagearms.com/st_200long.htm

if I understand correctly, the Stevens has the older trigger design and that there isn't much user adjustments to be made, that is why the AccuTrigger was designed & the Stevens cannot be fitted with the AccuTrigger; I would like to keep this rifle for the long haul and I was wondering what can be done to improve the older Savage trigger design

thanks

Stevens 200 trigger

Go to Savage Shooters forum and do a search. There are a couple of diagrams that show how to adjust it.

I lightened my Stevens 200 in 223 and it shoots fine for me. I was also able to lighten my Savage 10FP old style trigger also.

Have a gunsmith do a trigger job on it. Costs are typically around 35 bucks or so and it'll shoot fine after that. Or you can spend the same money and buy an aftermarket trigger from Brownell's.

Regards,

Dave
