I need suggestions on a set of one inch rings for my M1A with a Sadlak mount. I would prefer a quick disconnect type so my son can use the scope on his M1A too.

Thanks, Bimmer

Maybe I am misunderstanding you, but you do know that sharing 1 scope between 2 guns isn't going to work well for you right? point of impact will be different on the 2 guns. I also don't know what size scope you have (1" or 30mm tube, how big is your front bell) so I can't give you a size ring, but leupold and warne make nice quick release rings, and I wouldn't hesitate to try something from utg or leapers as well. here is a whole page of possibilities. http://www.midwayusa.com/find?sortby=1&itemsperpage=24&newcategorydimensionid=11352 though tI would shop around. the leupolds are cheaper on amazon.

Also, you will probably want a cheek rest or something for your stock. An m1a isn't designed for a scope, and the way the scope mounts up so high on the gun means your head is floating around above the stock, which is not conducive to good accurate shooting. Another stock is an option too.

My personal opinion is that as cool and classy as an m1a is, you are better off leaving it unscoped. If you want to scope something, get one of the ar's in 308. or a bolt gun.

For QD rings my preference is Warne.

The main problem with a scope on an M1A is the single mounting screw for the base. Make sure it's tight enough or the mount will loosen. I find a scope on an M1A useful for load workup.
