I own a K98 S/42G Mauser rifle. At this time, I have replaced the rear sight with a B-Square scope base. I am going to buy a 2 or 4x non-variable scope for it. The two scopes I am considering are the Burris 4x handgun scope, #200242, and the Leupold 2.5x28 scout scope #58810. Is there going to be a difference in using a handgun scope, as opposed to using the scout scope? Do any of you have experience with this type of mil-surp/scope set-up? I will be shooting no farther than 300 yards. I wish to use this type of scope system because I do not want to drill and tap the rifle, thus ruining its' originality. Any input of your success of failures with this type of a scoping system will be appreciated.
