I know I'm not the only one out here who enjoys seasonal items at cheap stores as outdoor shooting targets :) What are some of your favorite odd, fun, funny, random and/or thrifty items to shoot?

One I can say that surprised me was cheap wind-chimes, start from the bottom and work your way up and they make a different note with every shot and get shorter and shorter, more fun than you may expect.

Right after Halloween's always good as pumpkins are cheap and lots of random 'spooky' home decorations go on sale for next to nothin'

Also, this photo has been floating around on a popular social networking 'site, and I just wanted to share it here, because as soon as I saw it, I wasn't thinking decorations, I was thinking colored ice flying in all directions after being hit with a 12 gauge slug or 7.62x54R  Definitely qualifies as cheap fun target.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you :)

If shooting vegetables is your thing, set out a few zuchini's. You'll have bunches of targets from midsummer to first frost.

Y'know what, I'm going to try the frozen water balloon thing but I'm going to stick a string in the throat of the balloon before I tie it, That way, when I cut the latex off it should leave the string and I can tie the ice to a target stand to let it dangle.
Worth a try!

Ky Larry - I'm definitely a fan of shooting veggies and gourds that are past their prime, good splatter effect

Good thinking Apple a Day, might have to try that technique as well

Naybor, you can use a pizza box taped to a stake to tape or tack those paper plates to :)

We put ballons filled with oxy-acetylene mix inside pumpkins and shoot them with tracers. Its almost as loud as tannerite and looks pretty cool.
