I just received a IWB holster ordered from Amazon. My order was for the SR9c/SR40c but the tag on the holster says SR9/SR40. They give you the option to order a holster for the full size or the compact but I don't know what the difference is or even if there is a difference. I did ask Shepard Holsters this question but being a holiday weekend and impatient for an answer I was wondering if anyone on this form knows. Thanks for any information you can give.

Did you try and put your gun in the holster? If so, did it fit?

Pretty sure the only difference between the SR series and it's compact variances are the barrel and grip lengths.

The Kydex that the gun sits in feels all right it’s the leather backing that the Kydex and belt clips are attached to that are my concern. I’ve gone to the Shepherd holster website to try and find what or if there is a difference. When trying to compare them from pictures on their website it looks like the difference may be the placement of the belt clips but it’s pretty hard to make that kind of determination from pictures. The product description of this type of holster lists the same dimension, 8 ½ x 8 regardless of the type of pistol you enter, LC9 or P95 so I’m guessing the leather backing may be standard for all guns and the difference is the custom molded Kydex and possibly the belt clip placement.
The fact that they differentiate between the full size and compact SR series guns when ordering a holster concerns me. I really want to like this holster and hope it will be comfortable so I would like it to be as custom fitted to my gun as possible. Guess I’ll just wait and see if I get a response from Shepherd sometime after the holidays.

Oh, it's a hybrid holster. Most use the same mold for the standard size and the compact version. So yes, you have the correct holster.

Thanks for the reply. I just got back from a long hike using this holster and it felt great. I imagine as it breaks in it's only going to get better. Thanks again.
