Under the sticky Common and Important Legal Issues, there is a subthread about shipping, but that is closed, so I cannot add anything to that discussion. Anyway, on another forum, I have seen recent discussion about UPS changing their shipping rules to exclude any nonlicensed person who wants to ship a firearm. Here is a link: UPS releases new woke rules for shipping firearms (substack.com)
According to that, as a nonFFL, I can no longer ship any firearm or firearm part on UPS. Several months ago, Fedex shut me out of shipping any handgun. And as a nonFFL, I cannot use USPS to ship any handgun. So, what is a nonFFL supposed to do now, if we need to ship a handgun. In my area, FFLs decided some time back not to help customers ship outbound firearms, because they think it is not worth their time. If it turns out that using an FFL is my only choice, I foresee my local FFLs charging a very high rate. What to do?

Maybe this belongs in General, not Legal, but the sticky about shipping is in Legal.

I wrote that sticky and would love to edit it, but I too am locked out of editing.

    1. Keep looking for an FFL who will ship for you.
    2. Get your own FFL.
    3. Ship firearms via UPS and FedEx without telling them anything. Its NOT illegal as long as you are shipping to an FFL. No notification is required UNLESS you are shipping interstate to a nonlicensee, and thats a felony itself.

But if you do that (without telling them) and it is insured, if it is lost or stolen you are SOL! I do not think it happens very often, but who knows?
