camo is probably ok, but you dang well better have some actual targets out, even if they are just tin cans...

If I'm reading this right, you did not know that your uncle had leased the land to someone else? If that is right then you would have to get permission from the guy who rented your uncle's land. If your uncle made exceptions for his kin folks then that should have been understood with the guy leasing. There should have been a list of permitted kin also so the guy could check who is coming and going. I would not want a lease that any Tom, Dick and Harry could show up and say that Uncle was their uncle. I don't know the condition of your uncle, but my Dad is close to the 80 yr mark and he tells folks stuff and never remembers telling them! I had let him use my Winchester 9422 mag and dang if he didn't give it to someone, I had a heck of a time get my rifle back! It was one I won in FFA back in the 60's! I would have a real good talk with Uncle and see who else had permisson to be out there, my guess that you won't be alone!

First, my uncle is on morphine I think I mentioned that he is dying of cancer so if he forgot to mention to me that the land was leased then I forgive him.

The guy that was renting the land {the guy with the shotgun} was very nice once I explained to him who my uncle was and offered to call my uncle to verify my identity.
I then told him that if he saw an old red Ford truck it was mine, and we were fishing.

Just me and my cousin {my uncles son that I grew up with} is allow there on the land.

IMO the hunting club guy pissed me off when he acted like he had the authority to see my friends, son's drivers license. Then he made up the story about people sneaking in on their land and breaking their tree stands..........seriously! He also told a lie about keeping an eye on uncles property when A: He didn't know my uncles name. B: He said he was keeping an eye out for the guy renting {which was funny since the guy renting loved the HC so much that he approached me with a shotgun our first meeting since he thought I was one of the HC members.

Anyway, I WILL contact the local game warden office and identify myself and find out exactly what the rules are.

Thanks again for all advise and comments...............

Why are so many on here ready to make a certain enemy of a fellow group of hunters and sportsmen?

Maybe the uncle has had friction with these guys, but why get offensive with them?

Because they were trespassing and misrepresenting themselves, maybe? You know, a few criminal acts.

GEE GUYS WHY ARE YOU SO QUICK TO VILIFY PEOPLE WHO USE GUNS TO MURDER PEOPLE, THEY'RE FELLOW GUN OWNERS! HURR!

Using Kansas as an example (check your own state DNR regs) you need an annual hunting license to hunt or fish on public land or on private land, even if you own it. You may also need a specific hunting permit to hunt certain animals eg deer. However deer permits are priced differently if you are only hunting your own land (lowest cost), are a landowner of more than 80 acres, or are a non-landowner (highest cost). Other animals do not require a permit, just the license.

Not true. You do not need a hunting license to hunt on your own land in KS. You may need a permit for certain species.
