Shooting victim may owe his life to robber

Bill Davis is recovering from a gunshot wound that may have helped doctors save his life from cancer.

The story is amazing enough, but this quote caught my eye:

"Came in with a gun to my face and demanded money. I gave him my wallet, gave him my bank bag, gave him cash in my pocket," Bill Davis described his brush with death. "At that point he decided to shoot me after I'd given him everything."

<sarcasm> That's not what's supposed to happen, is it? I mean, don't the Mommies and HCI always tell you to give them what they want and they'll go away? </sarcasm> :banghead:

So you like living in a country where the Brits have helped create an atmosphere of Hell on Earth for Catholic and Protestant children? You like living in a country where Catholic or Protestant children can be hit with rocks, insulted, etc. just because they're going to school in a neighborhood dominated by the opposite religion? Wow! You must be one tough Irish man. I'd be looking for a ticket out to tranquil lands where people can state their religious beliefs without the threat of death looming over them....

As for the perp, that will make an amazing defense. "I wuz just trying to save his life by shooting him 'cuz I knew his belt would deform the bullet so it would just came back out, and he would get the medical attention he needed. If I wanted to kill him, I would have shot him in the head, honest!"
