A short time later, a citizen used Deputy Gallegos' radio to report that an officer had been shot. The suspect was apprehended three days later in Connell, Washington.

The thin blue line gets thinner, and we are all diminished by this cowardly act.

Just the other day we had a CHP officer who, in attempting to kill the ignition on a suspected DUI, get dragged over a mile across the Bay Bridge. He fired his weapon several times and got away with a few minor injuries. Suspect was at large (but I bet he was caught b/c the license plate would lead inspectors to him).
