Okay, I did not get DQ'd or anything. My mistake was more equipment related. I had shot in "Action Shoots" before, and I was able to use my CZ 75 hicap magazines at their full capacity. In fact, I shot the whole last shoot with one 10rnd and 15 rnd magazine each.
So, I show up with three mags, one 10rnd, two hicaps--one of the hicaps being a non-factory one that I only used for target practice only due to spotty reliability. Geesssh, I have to use it now! I quickly found out that the two stages required up to four seperate magazines--I ended up not even being able to shoot the last three paper targets on the first of the two 4-mag stages! On another stage, the unreliable, non-factory hicap caused two malfunctions (lips not tight enough)! Arrrrggghhhh! I was about to walk away. A nice guy fixed my non-factory hicap problem with pliers, so it looked like I had three good mags for the last stage.
The last stage was the classifier. Since I was not shooting for classification, the RO allowed me to load my hicaps all the way, change mags when required, but then reuse the hicaps with rounds still remaining. THAT stage felt good--I had fun with it. I am not sure what it means yet, but I shot 81 points in 31 seconds. THAT stage was fun.
Anyway, word to the wise for those looking into their first match, CHECK OUT the requirements before you get there!
Anyone know where to get inexpensive factory mags for the CZ 75B?! And a nice holster. And (4) mag pouches. And a smith that can make my mags fall free (I pulled the mag brake out--no help--still get stuck). It may have been frustrating, but I have to go back and do better!
