Well I finally had a chance to get out to the rifle range today (I had to take the afternoon off to get the free time)
The gun functioned perfectly for the 200 rounds I shot today. I was shooting Argentin Surplus from Ammo Man and the gun at it up! I'll be ordering another 1K rounds atleast, hopefully more!
I started off at the 50 yard mark to make sure the sights were on paper, they weren't, I was way low at 50 yards, I turned the drum up to the 200 Meters and that bought me up some. I went to the 300 Meters mark on the sight drum and that had me about an inch low.
Then I hung a few targets out @ 100 yards, with the sight drum @ the 300 meter mark I was still about an inch low on the target, no big deal, there is an elevation adjustment on the sight drum. I was just to stupid to bring any tools with me to make the adjustments The gun was grouping fair enough for me I had a couple 20 rd groups that were 4" or so @ 100 yards. Plenty fine by me! It is atleast the Minute of Torso accurate I like my rifles to be.
The gun is really easy to shoot, even with te hard plastic butt pad on the stock it wasn't abusive to my shoulder at all.
Now the down side. I'm left handed and this rifle is not designed for any type of Ambi shooting in mind. The brass deflects right back into my face. So much so I have shell case marks on the right side of my face as well as a burn mark on my head from a shell landing in the glasses.
I'm going to have to call JLD on Monday and ask if there is anything that they know of that can be done, if not I'm going to have to come up with some sort of shell deflector, or re train my self to shoot rifles right handed!
