i would like to ask a question about shotgun adapters, what are the stress tolerance of these adapters??? can the 12g to 410g adapters be used/fired as they stand without being inserted into a 12g shotgun,as i wish to make a small emergency hand held 410g device for killing sharks as we pull them up beside the boat...i saw a similar thing on sons of guns for killing crocs....oh and are the 12g to 410g adapters rifled or smooth bore????

I see problems.....

You would be building an AOW I believe, but some of the NFA guys might be around shortly to correct me.

Nevermind, I just noted your location, please accept my apologies.

shark sticks are available comercially for about $150 in USA, impact activated, and 12 gauge, generally. trying to make one is courting disaster unless you know what you are doing.

Welcome to THR, adenbaiss.

I have no idea what Australia laws say about this subject, but I did a quick search and found a manufacturer of bangsticks.
Someone with machine experience should be able to fabricate something that would work. Just be careful, and make sure it's legal.

I would be cautious using adapters as a stand alone unit, as they probably need barrel support to be safe.
Perhaps an old single barrel shotgun barrel would work as a donor chamber for the unit.
