Shotgun caliber conversion inserts on the way

Just got the message they shipped today and will arrive Saturday. Going to have to wait for the weather to improve somewhat before I ring them out. I will post a review when I get them and will be doing some youtube shoots when Spring arrives.

Converts your 12 ga break open shotgun to fire, .22, 38/357, 45acp,410/45lc, 9mm,.223,7.62x39, 308 and of course all 12 gauge ammo. The inserts are all 7inches long and rifled. I also have 12 to 20ga inserts and 12 to 410 inserts (all of those being from Shortlane.

I never could warm up to inserts. I found it preferable to load light loads in my shotguns and carry a revolver on the belt or ss rimfire in a backpack.

Gotcha - there are also inserts that let you drop down a gauge or three as well. I would be concerned about pressures in the tube itself, and then about not having enough from a 7" barrel to give me the velocity and accuracy. What would happen if you used them in a 32" target gun? Since bullets drop and rise upon firing, would they clear that barrel length before doing so so as to not hit the barrel and skewing the bullet off course?

I have seen a drilling with a .22 insert in one of the barrels, but, IIRC, it was a full length tube, not 7"

Generally speaking,a shotgun is a point and pull weapon. Did you upgrade your exsisting sights or what? With some of those rifle cals, you need sights to get the benefit as far as accuracy goes.

Bullets do not defy gravity, they do not rise. A bullet is effected by the pull of gravity and slowed down by the resitance of air molecules. A slow bullet is effected by gravity more and drops more than a faster bullet. The rise you are alluding to is from sighting in your gun to be on target at different ranges. If you want to be dead on at 300 yards with a 223 caliber bullet you must aim your rifle above the vertical plane to do so, so your bullet appears to "rise" but instead is going to the target like a howitzer round. A 357 caliber bullet leaving the muzzle 1200 fps is going 14,400 inches per second. If it only has to travel 13 inches to get to the muzzle it is doing that rather quickley. I won't do all of the math, but hitting the side of the barrel would be impossible, unless your barrel was 20 ft long or so.

I think some people here are failing to see just how handy these inserts can be. I don't have a break action shotgun but if I did and had $400 to blow then I wouldn't mind adding these inserts to my bug out bag. Think about it. As a self proclaimed prepper, these inserts give me the ability to use many different rounds I may come across during a SHTF situation. Yea Yea Yea, I know it's not probable but if you have the money then why not prepare.
